Hi Alters, we’re proud to share some incredible end-of-Q1/start-of-Q2 updates coming out of AltLayer as we head into the summer months.

This March, ALT’s much-anticipated token staking feature went live. It marked the kick-off for the phased rollout of MACH Alpha: a fast finality layer built atop EigenLayer’s restaking mechanism. Token staking empowers holders to become active participants in providing economic security. They can now act as decision-makers in the wider AltLayer ecosystem. We continue welcoming stakers to help secure MACH Alpha via stake.altlayer.io ⬅ with guidance from this comprehensive tutorial.

MACH Alpha is being rolled out in four stages starting with ALT staking. This phased release will allow each component of the system to get tested in the wild before any new major features get introduced. It will also allow for progressive decentralization of MACH Alpha, allowing the system to stabilize and mature before being open to community-run operators. This rollout plan is well underway. In April, our MACH AVS for OP Mainnet and Arbitrum One went live on testnet. We have begun onboarding ETH and LST delegators to test the AVS. Upon successful wrap-up of testing and following required fixes, MACH will go mainnet in the coming weeks.

We also set the stage for Phase II of staking in April — revealing Xterio as the debut partner for dual staking.

Xterio and AltLayer marked the first AVS to go live on the EigenLayer mainnet for the OP Mainnet. Both could then begin to on-board ETH delegators. Check out our delegator guide, AltLayer operator guide, and Xterio operator guide. Additionally, we will support the newly launched EigenDA mainnet by provisioning an operator, run and managed by AltLayer.

In other news, AltLayer hosted a massively successful “Restaked Rollup Day” event in partnership with EigenLayer (8 April I Hong Kong Grand Hyatt).

Catch the riveting, informative keynotes and panels here

Our technical event found a passionate audience during the Web3 Festival in Hong Kong, which attracted the best minds across the crypto/Layer2/modular/ rollup scene from far and wide! Not to mention, AltLayer’s Hong Kong itinerary featured top-tier speaking engagements across the island. Our CEO and Founder YQ was part of a fantastic panel and keynote at the main Web3 Festival, and he shared his insights across several more. Our Head of Growth Dorothy Liu also dazzled the audience with her knowledge. Overall we marked our presence in 15+ events — the SevenX New Trends Summit, Web3 Wave, AppChain Day, The Future of Web3 were among these..

AltLayer also attended Token2049 Dubai’s side events, and took the opportunity to educate the crowd on restaked rollups.

🤝🆕Key Partnerships

  • AltLayer is helping Swell build the first L2 zkEVM for restaking. It is powered by Polygon CDK, and utilizes EigenDA for its Data Availability needs. Swell will take the form of a restaked rollup, which is accompanied by a range of Actively Validated Services (AVS) to augment its security and decentralization by leveraging EigenLayer’s restaking mechanism. These rollups will be invaluable in the building out of LRTfi on the Swell rollup.
  • Lagrange’s co-processor will now be available to all rollups serviced by AltLayer. By integrating their parallel prover into our rollups, innovative new zk-compute features will be easily available to our users! AltLayer will also act as an operator for Lagrange’s coprocessor and state committee AVS. The coprocessor generates zk proofs, allowing devs to verify the integrity of the result of their computation on-chain and removing uncertainties around trust for off-chain provers altogether. Excited to have them try this!
  • AltLayer will launch a game-focused restaked rollup for leading Web3 game platform and publisher Xterio. The Xterio chain will be run and managed by AltLayer. It will operate as a Layer 2 settling on Ethereum, and utilize the OP Stack as the rollup framework with EigenDA as the Data Availability (DA) layer. The rollup will focus on web3 and AI- powered games with plans to build an on-chain ecosystem around AAA games leveraging the $XTER token.
  • AltLayer’s rollups will be integrated with Polyhedra’s zkBridge functionalities, enabling trustless, efficient, and secure interoperability across various Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks like Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, and more. Additionally, AltLayer will join as a node operator for Polyhedra’s Bitcoin dual-staking AVS, securing transactions with EigenLayer’s restaking mechanism.
  • AltLayer has partnered with Nebra to integrate their Universal Proof Aggregation (UPA) into our rollusps. With this, our users/builders can expect reduced costs when operating a rollup (especially during peak traffic periods) along with high levels of security.
  • AltLayer will add another ZK coprocessor feature to our rollups by Brevis, bringing trustless data access and computation to dApps built on AltLayer’s restaked rollups. AltLayer builders can leverage this to trustlessly compute over historical on-chain data, and build data-driven dApps responsive to dynamic data input.

⭕Ecosystem Updates

  • We will help Prom to deliver a next-gen testnet with incredible privacy, flexibility & security features. Powered by Polygon CDK, this zk-based L2 on Ethereum will bring high speed to every transaction, elevated by our rollup infrastructure. Try Prom testnet now

  • Our RaaS solution now powers the DePIN+AI Layer 2 by GM Network’s GM Chain, which also leverages cutting-edge tech from EigenDA & the Optimism stack. Our RaaS will help speed up the adoption and usability of their network’s full zero-gas chain
  • We added Envio, a simple and sleek data indexing solution to our RaaS Stack. Envio facilitates the development process, providing unparalleled speed and agility when users tap into on-chain data. Glad to have you in the ecosystem
  • We have partnered with CyberConnect to create the first-ever L2 social network with restaking powered by Optimism and EigenDA. The Cyber Sepolia Testnet will be securely deployed by AltLayer.
  • AltLayer’s RaaS solutions will make it easier for users to deploy parallelized execution via Sei. Our restaked rollup products will support the Parallel Stack, allowing those rollups to simultaneously benefit from EigenLayer’s restaking mechanism.
  • 💲ALT Updates: Both TokenPost and OKX Wallet announced their support for staked ALT following its recent launch
