Dark Forest on Altlayer is back with a community round in collaboration with Polygon’s “The PIT” gaming weekend! Here’s your guide.
- Whitelisting closes with a whopping 11.3K registered users
- Top 5 to walk away with an Oh Ottie! NFT Reward
Hi Alters,
You might have seen the news: a second community round for Altlayer-powered Dark Forest is officially in the works — this time as part of @Jump x @Polygon’s “The PIT Community” initiative, which will take place between 4th Feb 12PM — 5th Feb 3PM Singapore time (that’s 4th Feb: 0400 hrs to 5th Feb: 0700 hrs GMT).
The first demo of Dark Forest on Altlayer enjoyed resounding success and so naturally, we’re thrilled to see how this iteration will go. We welcomed all gamers — experts and amateurs to kick back and join us on this incredible journey of real-time space conquest strategy in a universe with innumerable planets. A creative world with a smooth UX, this game is a mix of both strategy and pure fun! All the ingredients of a great game you can lose yourself in this coming weekend. The response has been overwhelming — our whitelisting closed with 11.3K players registered for the upcoming weekend.
P.S for those registered with valid emails: You will be receiving an email containing the gameplay instructions and details of your account. A reminder — Please do not use the account provided for any purpose other than this community round’s gameplay.
Here’s a refresher on the game’s scoring system.
1 point is given for every 1 SILVER you withdraw from the game. To complete this, you must mine silvers from Asteroids, move them to Spacetime Rips, and withdraw them
Points for gaining an ARTIFACT: Your score is based on the level of artifact:
- Lv1–100,000
- Lv2–200,000
- Lv3–500,000
- Lv4–20,000,000
- Lv5–50,000,000
Points for capturing a planet in the Capture Zone, and holding it for a certain time: Your score is based on the level of the planet you hold:
- Lv1–0
- Lv2–250,000
- Lv3–500,000
- Lv4–750,000
- Lv5–1,000,000
- Lv6–10,000,000
- Lv7–20,000,000
- Lv8–50,000,000
- Lv9–100,000,000
A few more pointers on Dark Forest’s community round:
- CAPTURE ZONES: There are more capture zones, with each capture zone larger compared to the warm-up round. Note that capture zones are marked in yellow on the map. They will rotate every 650 blocks (i.e about 30 mins) . You will be able to invade a planet once inside a capture zone. Once you invade a planet, do hold and defend it for 3860 blocks (i.e., about 3 hours) to capture it. A countdown timer is shown on top of the planet for easier reference.
- TIMERS: The timer will not reset once the countdown starts even when the planet owner switches hands during this time.
- Plugins: We have also enabled a few plugins so you can find/see your own planets easier; upgrade your planets easier; and easily locate available artefacts for prospect (once you have explored them on the map).
Rewards
To remind you — top 5 winners will walk away with an Oh Ottie! NFT each. Final scores will be available via the leaderboard plugin from the left-side menu in the game or on the front page at https://darkforest-thepit.altlayer.io/. We will contact the winners via email to request for their Ethereum address for the post-event award distribution.
It’s almost time to play! Are you ready?
